Players will often tell coaches of the teams that finish second or third that they have chosen a different school before they make it public out of politeness and so that school can move on to other prospects that may be on the backburner. Tims is sometimes of the essence for those secondary targets - like a Russel Gage who we may pursue much more strongly if Hootie and Adams go elsewhere before he chooses a different school.
