Idk why you would pick Spurrier over Miles. He hasn't even won the SEC in the last 8 years. Miles is clearly a better coach.. and no need to say that Miles has better resources, go to where the resources are, kinda like the oil companies in the Middle East. No excuses, just results and the results speak for themselves. Miles is a better coach. (and I consider recruiting completely part of the coaching aspect.)

The only bowl game he won was against Southern Miss in the Houston Bowl.
Miles is a terrible coach, right?
ETA: Before Spurrier arrived, USC had a losing record all-time.
In his 8th year at USC, Spurrier has a 66 percent (76-39) winning percentage. He’s won nearly twice as many as he’s lost at that program.
Spurrier has taken USC to 8 bowl games in 10 years
Previously the South Carolina program went to 14 bowls in 60 years.
He has three of the six bowl victories in the history of the program.
He won the program’s first-ever SEC East title
He won the program’s first-ever victory at The Swamp
He won the program’s first-ever victory over a No. 1 team
He has the best-ever season in program’s history (2011)
That year marked the first time in program history to beat Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, and Clemson, in consecutive seasons.
What he has done at USC is a minor miracle. I'd split my spleen at anyone who tried to tell me Miles could have done the same.
If anyone could have equalled what Spurrier has done at USC it would be Saban. But I don't think Saban would have the balls to try it.
