Moving together was discussed but isn't really an option. She's about to go to grad school and even beyond that she wouldn't be able to hold a steady job if she moved with me every time I had to travel. The option of her moving with me after grad school is open if I just support us but then what's the point of her going to grad school, and she also does not want to stay at home.

I meant moving in together in BR, and you'd just be gone when you have to work. It would lessen the amount you have to pay to have a place in your home base.
