How big of a factor will Iowa seeing a new offense be?

While I'm sure our offense will still be very similar to the regular season offense the fact is that Zach and Jennings are very very different quarterbacks.
With a month to prepare I'm sure Cameron is planning to take full advantage of that fact.
I've got to believe that Iowa having virtually no film on this offense has got to be worrisome for them.
Also what new things do you see Cameron implementing?

Toss dive against 8 in the box.

Return of the bubble screen.
I feel like OBJ would kill with that shite.

I haven't watched any of Jennings high school film. Was he an Option QB? I know he slung the rock a lot as well but just curious.
I don't want to be a strictly option team but would be nice to be able to lineup in a 4 wide shotgun set on occasion and have that threat.

You just hijacked your own thread

First of all, Jennings is a mobile "pocket passer" than a "scrambler", which makes him not "very very different" from Mett. He just has the ability to escape when being forced out of the pocket, but if you watch his high school tape, he actually prefers to stay in pocket and go through his progression than simply tug and run. Plus, I do not believe Coach Cameron would abandon the offensive scheme he has developed all year and try to install a new offense just within a month. It's not just the quarterback that he has to take into account, but also the block scheme, the receiver route, and the tempo. Also, it's not like Jennings has been practicing under a different offensive style ever since he got here. As far as I know, his playbook doesn't look too different than Mett's.

And here we go

Agree with your analysis. We'll have an exciting game plan and so will Ferentz. But he'll have more to worry about. Plus, it's to even the record against them.

He did a good amount of this and our run game out the shotgun should punish IOWA's defense.

Of course we're not going to completely change out offense in a month but I have to believe Cameron will take advantage of, or at least attempt to take advantage of, a true dual threat quarterback that Iowa has practically no film of.

This is concerning. Iowa usually does very well with prep time.
When we have to improvise on the run, we make mistakes in coverage.
I do think that our D staff is now about as solid as you could ask for with our long time OL coach now the DL coch, a new defensive coach that was a lkng time DC elsewhere and our DC is now in his 2nd yr.
I would have been much more concerned last yr but the unknown is still a big deal.
Mobile qbs have given us fits at times and I am sure lsu knows that and will try to exploit that
Last yr I would have ben much

Mett and AJ are different type QB's simply because Jennings has the other gear with his feet. It is understood that we HAD to drive the field against Arky, however, if you go back and watch that series of plays you will notice the playcalling being wide open. Routes to TE's, HB's and downfield tosses. Look for much more of this IMO.

Depends on how well Jennings plays.

Not having film on AJ is a huge advantage. High school tape of AJ will do no good.

This is AJ's first start, but beware the kid can play.
