basic physiology of the majority of Spanish people
Football is a common man´s game, and a love of all people.
It´s not chic to play football. If you´re good, however, it is. If you´re great, it´s fantastic. If you´re elite, you´re a demigod.
Normal and bigger people, of middle class level or better, play basketball, handball, rugby, tennis, swim, etc.

You do know that Germany scrapped their system, and remade it, based upon the Spanish rise? They went technical, upon seeing Spain´s U surge, two years before Spain beat them in the Euro 2008.
Ok. So, using the same system of play, but with bigger, better "athletes," Bayern beat the shite out of them, twice. Once at the Camp Nou. Does this not reinforce the point I've been trying to make? Or have I not explained it well? I've been drinking whiskey.

Dandy are you from Spain or did you just move there a long time ago?

I don't. Forgive my ignorance. Regardless, Spanish footballers are not the biggest in Europe.

When they were smashing everybody previously, were you saying the sky was falling? I don´t think so.
They did revolutionize football, proof of that, is Guardiola being in Munich (he wouldn´t be there if they didn´t think he could do something über important and historic).
There was total football, which he enhanced into attacking football. Well, he didn´t, he was credited with it. A little curly haired genius taught him this style of play. Lillo. He also gleaned things from others, but basically, Juan Manuél Lillo.
A sort of full court press.

I carry both passports.

When I read most of what you post on here, I don't have a clue what you're talking about dude. I don't mean that as an insult, I think it's intended on your end.
Best compliment I've ever received.

No problem, I´m cool with it, as I see you are. No harm, no foul.
By the way, Lillo is from Álava, if I´m not mistaken, so he was kind of a prophet in a hostile land (it´s the North, and of a classic rough and tumble type of football).
The ´you´re so fricking American´ wasn´t an insult, it was a comment, nothing more.
In general, and in IMHO, Americans tend to be extremist, and one game, or a tie of matches, signal an utter and complete change or reversal. It´s not always that way.
IMHO Many have a short attention span, pay attention to garbage adverts and propaganda, and act accordingly. Many, not all.
This has been my experience. Experiences may vary, of course.

Anyone who would be insulted by that probably doesn't know how insults work. There's almost literally nothing better to be in the world than American.

This may all be true. What America has given the world however, is the greatest athletes, great fans who don't kill each other (mostly), and more successful and well organized leagues than anything Europe has ever come up with, in a shorter amount of time.
Our basement may be really low, but our ceiling is far higher than anyone else's.

It's because their parents won't let them play football because of injury risk.
