hope he stays. that would be great for a young guy like jennings to have a guy like landry to throw to.
i think he is gone though.

I bet Odell and Jarvis talk about it a lot, and I'm just guessing, what one do, the other will follow.

Luck did. Barkley did. Mariota did. Could not have used a worse example than Matt Barkley

I wish people would step away and consider that he likes the college life. Once you start working for a living it is no longer any fun. Sometimes these athletes leave early and do great at the next level but I bet if you asked them if they had to do it over they would have stayed another year. Some may elect to stay and graduate with a degree. Others may need to leave such as the case with Honey Badger. BLUF: Each player is different.

He has seen AJ10 for nearly a year.
If he and/or OBJ comes back, you should be excited because it tells you that they have the utmost confidence in AJ10.

I think last year's mass exodus has everyone convinced that anyone on the roster who is any good at football will go pro.
We had almost no one leave from 2004 until 2010 despite some great teams during that stretch, and a decent chunk of the guys that have left still spent 4 years in the program and then bypassed a 5th (off the top of my head, Russel, Ridley, Jean-Francios, Mingo, Montgomery, Simon, Logan, Faulk and Ford were all 4th year juniors).

Yea I agree OBJ and Juice will be 2nd rounder at the earliest.
A lot of people dont realize what type of WRs are taken in the 1st round. They are either 6'2+ 210 and are very rangy and physical and can run a 4.4-4.5 and jump out the gym, or they are 4.3 burners with major explosive ability and dont drop a ball like Tavon Austin, Percy Harvin, Kendall Wright etc.. Jarvis and OBJ arent either of those.
I mean look at the WRs taken in the 1st round the past 5 years. Kenny Britt, Hakeem Nicks, Percy Harvin, Jeremy Maclin, Michael Crabtree, Heyward-Bey, Dez Bryants, Demeryius Thomas, Julio Jones, AJ Green, Jon Baldwin, Kendall Wright, AJ Jenkins, Michael Floyd, Justin Blackmon, DeAndre Hopkins, Cordarrelle Patterson.
And look at the list of guys coming out this year: Watkins, Mike Evans, Lee, Adams, Jordan Matthews, etc.
Those guys fit either the 6'2+ 210lbs rangy/physical or they are 4.3 / big play guys with great hands.
And I would take Jarvis ahead of OBJ. Yeah OBJ is more explosive, but he has inconsistent hands. You dont take a WR that is a deep threat with his size and inconsistent hands in the 1st or 2nd round. I think Jarvis has the best chance of sneaking up into the late 1st / early 2nd, but its a long shot. I could see a team with a good QB and a good offensive system take him early because Jarvis has great hands, runs great routes, great run blocker, and will be in rhythm with whatever QB he plays for. If a QB wants him at 7 yards, he will be at 7 yards.
And both of these guys are #2 WRs in the NFL. You dont draft a WR in the 1st round to be a 2nd option. You go for a home run guy(Percy, Austin), or a physical freak like Julio, Dez, Nicks, etc.
But, Jarvis could be a huge steal in the 2nd - 3rd round. Hes a blend of Steve Smith and Victor Cruz on the field IMO. Not the biggest, not the fastest, but will catch anything thrown his way, is more than willing to go across the middle, blocks great and runs great routes, and plays with an attitude that every team in the NFL needs.
Just because they arent 1st rounders doesnt mean anything. WR is that spot where you can be great, regardless where you were drafted or if you even were drafted. And both guys are good. They will be fine at the next level.
I can see Jarvis having a very solid 10+ year career in the NFL, and OBJ being a WR that takes the top off the coverage, but also being a very successful return guy.
Edit: And I will never bash a kid or say it was a bad decision when it comes to staying or going pro. We can sit here and say oh thats a dumb move he could of moved up in the draft if he came back, or thats a dumb move he should of left. Fact of the matter is, we arent those people. We dont know what kind of home situation they have, or how there relationship with coaches are. And the future is never guaranteed. What if a kid was a 3rd round projected pick, but came back and had a bad injury late in the season like Mett? And i will never say its a dumb move for a kid to come back to school another year. They could suck in the NFL and be done in 4 years. Without a degree.
Its their decision, nobody elses. And I support all these kids and the decision they end up making.

I'm willing to bet Landry is 100 percent gone. He's a 1st-2nd round pick depending on needs. NFL scouts are drooling over him.

Maybe he prefers to catch balls thrown from a schwartze???

Having him, Dural, and possibly Quille as possible targets for AJ?

This. I could happen since he won't have to share with ODB for targets. Wishful thinking
Actually I think this is one of the things that helped them both. They were each so good no team could single in on one.

Not sure about this.... BUt he catches everything. I like him in the late 2nd round. OBJ should stay IMO.

Yea he says that scouts are drooling over him, but just his opinion. Dont get it

OBJ may run 4.4
at 5'11" that could sneak him in the late 1st round.
you brought up some names yourself. Maclin, Kendall Wright, even Justin Blackon & Hakeem nicks are in that range
Posted on 12/4/13 at 6:04 pm to Lester Earl
Justin Blackmon is 6'2 210lbs and is a extremely physical WR that runs a 4.46.
Maclin is 6'0 200lbs that runs in the low 4.4s and is 1 of the best pure athletes in the NFL and 1 of the most dynamic guys in the NFL with the ball in his hands. Hes 1 of those rare weapons that you can line up all over the field and just try to get him the ball.
Hakeem Nicks is 6'2 210lbs that ran a 4.51 and has 10 1/2 inch hands.
Wright was the only 1 in that list that kinda stuck out to me. But, hes 1 of the best route runners in the NFL right now and arguably has the best hands in the NFL. And they drafted him to be their #2 WR behind Kenny Britt. At the time, it was a good pick. Now Britt is all messed up and never plays and will be released in the offseason. So who did they draft last year? Justin Hunter at 34th overall to be their #1 future WR. And hes 6'4.
But still, minus Wright, thats 1 WR in the past 5 years that doesnt fit the typical 1st round mold that I explained.
OBJ may run 4.4s. But that wont sneak him in the 1st round. The worst thing for a WR to have is inconsistent hands. Whats the biggest knock on OBJ? Inconsistent hands. And his official height at the combine will be an inch shorter than 5'11. Guarantee that.

I think it depends how many around him want/need the money and are encouraging/urging him to go.....
haven't seen many NFL WRs stab passes like that game in and game out....
JL is a blessing to LSU.
