quote:quote:Well I can say that about every SEC school. I can name 2 coaches in recent history to do that.... Urben Meyer to Ohio St Steve Spurrier to Redskins .......so your point is dumb....because name the last "great" AU coach...Terry Bowden...maybe?
Really, how many former AU HC have left AU to take a better job ?
What Auburn coach in the last 50 years has left to take another coaching job, period, better or worse, college or pro?
None.
Chizik was fired. Tubberville was fired/resigned because of the bad year but did not leave for another coaching job. Bowden resigned after learning he would probably not be retained the following year. Dye resigned because of the NCAA investigation. Barfield was fired because he stunk. Jordan retired.
As for SEC coaches who left for another job. Saban to Miami, Spurrier to the Skins, Meyer to OSU, Franchionne to aTm, Kiffin to USC, and that is all within the last 10 years.
I am not saying to gus won't leave, or at least listen to an offer from Texas, but to say Auburn isn't a destination job is insane.
