Holy shite, that's a helluva bargain if it was in good shape. MY pre-64 '06 kicks a lot less than most, of course with the scope, it clocks in at a healthy weight.

It's not a bad recoil, it's just more than most calibers someone would shoot when they are 13.

I almost threw up when he told me what he sold it for. It was in pristine condition too.

My opinion would that the 30-06 is a great round, but the 270 would probly be better for a kid. The 270 win pushing a 130 grain bullet is an outstanding round, crushes deer and is outstandingly accurate. The 06 pushing the 150 isn't bad, but I think it likes 165s better for accuracy. I will say that I haven't worked an 06 much though. Faxis needs to weigh in. He has a hot little 120gr round he loves, but you would have to reload.
