AD was the best on 7th floor and taking over... I think yoi have to give him the ball

1 point game. Why was a corner chuck necessary?
Jesus. He was wide open. Wasn't no where near a chuck. Grevis' desperation shots were chucks.

Down one at home with AD making plays late. You run the clock out on yourself to shoot a corner 3, not a terribly high percentage shot even when open.
You left yourself (AD) no chance for a rebound and put back. It is low percentage basketball.

AD rolled and pelieve it or not most teams can make adjustments after getting burned on a pick and roll 4 or 5 times in a few minutes. We don't make the adjustment much but other teams do. AD rolled off the pick and they covered him. It was make jump shot beat you and not a dunk at the rim defense

Yea. Maybe it will force him to learn some post moves.
I would still rather this than a blowout

The shot was not the problem.
Waiting to take the shot until the clock had run down was a huge mistake.

Didn't watch anything but the last 3 minutes, but looking at the box score, AD only playing 30 minutes (even with 4 fouls) is pretty bad. At some point, you have to put the guy in and, if he picks up fouls and doesn't make it to the end of the game, shite happens. Being overly cautious with him like he was isn't good. I strongly suspect that, if AD played 35 minutes, we win.

plenty of games end on far worse shots.

Ran the clock down on themselves down one and took a three. Not smart, no matter how you dress it up.

I'm fine with 30 minutes. He's a big man and he got his leg twisted up last game.
Posted on 11/26/13 at 9:35 pm to MrBlue105
He seemed pretty damn healthy in the 3 minutes that I saw.

Then a lot of teams are dumbasses because a lot end on that type of shot.

The play worked fine. Waiting to run the motion once the clock got down to 10 seconds, however...
not so smart when you're trailing by one.
Right. Much smarter to rush into a shot when you're trailing by one.
Listenl, playing for a quick shot or playing for the last shot are both valid options here. You can't kill Monty for playing for the last shot. They got a great look from the 3rd option on that play. The ball touched every part of the rim and just didn't go down. shite happens.
Rushing a shot extends the game, it doesn't mean a better chance at winning. They got a great look and just missed. No one is to blame.

actually the ball missed with 3 seconds to go. just caught a terrible break and no one was around the boards to grab the rebound and they were able to throw it down court.
I think Monty prob. wanted the play to happen about 2 seconds faster than it did. But I didn't mind letting a young team play it on their own there. LIke I said earlier, plenty of bad shots happen at end of games, crazy runners, one hand prayers, and alot of times no shot at all. it was wide open. We caught a bad break
look at my post history, I bash the frick out of monty...but this one isn't as bad as people are making it out to be.

I hear ya. In fact, I'm not going to lie. I am glad Monty DIDN'T call time out there because I'd prefer his players figure it out at this point. It seems like that is what has been going on the whole time this season anyway.

30 mins is pretty notmal for big men.

everyone knows I hate monty. But that play was wide the frick open. We don't get open shot like that out of time out majority of time.
Exactly. Lots of teams don't take a time out there. The play that was called worked. The shot just didn't fall.
If he had called a timeout and it still didn't fall people would bitch saying it allowed them to get their D set up.

Agree... monty obviously doesn't have a better play in the book... sorry a 3 isn't a good shot down by 1 with 4 seconds left.

Good shot that should have gone in. I would have liked Jrue to take it to the rack and have AD follow, but the play worked well and the shot just didn't fall.
