Phish cover band plays inverted songs

For the noobs. Inverting is playing the ending of a song first and going directly into the beginning. The reason for this is to keep their sets non-stop and to be somewhat unpredictable.
By jamming into different parts of songs instead of just jamming into the beginning each time it allows the band more directions to go in and forces them to switch up how they jam. IMO if phish did this it would give them so many more avenues to explore their music instead of the same old nostalgia act.
Portland-based Phish cover band "Shafty"
Theme From The Bottom -> (><) Split Open And Melt -> First Tube
Gotta Jibboo -> (><) David Bowie
Whatcha think Phanners?

The guitarist had a decent peak on the Bowie

I think the best solution is to play longer songs. I hate how they try to pack in as many as possible into second sets. The latter part of Set II is more often than not a disaster.

Not bad at all.

Phish doesn't need gimmicks
Obviously Phish would never do this, but think about how cool it would be for them to jam into the blissful Hood ending out of left field, continue with the first half, and then jam out of the middle. It's neither gimmicky or uncreative.

quote:I agree. Most of the 4-6 minute songs are not even worth listening to most of the time. I like some of them but if I've heard essentially the same version 15 times and there is no jamming, I'm likely to skip it. I know they can't extend every song 15 minutes but I wish they would.

How is this a gimmick?

4-5 song sets could be the solution.

The best way to do that is to right setlists
They've done it twice in 3.0. One time was epic, and one time was meh city.

i didn't get to see phish this year, but i've liked their recent shows well enough. what i wouldn't mind seeing them do is occasionally tweak the "standard" tunes to keep the fans on their toes. one example that comes to mind is "fee" from va. beach '99, which somehow ended up morphing into a mega-jam. shoot me, but i once had a weird dream that i saw phish play "bouncin' around the room" (yeah, nothing newsworthy there)....but instead of ending it the usual way, they started gradually accelerating it ala "sparkle" or the SOAM jam. hey, it sounded awesome in my dream
