Casting is everything. The little kid was bad - HC was even worse.
Kind of my problem with Abrams' Star Trek (particularly Pine as Kirk) - but that is a complaint for another thread and another audience.

I mean, portman and a host of other actors turned in dud performances...I think anakin should've been an adult from the get go, but what could HC have done?
The writing, direction, everything in this movie set him up for failure.
the character did need swag though, and he couldn't have delivered that, but he wasn't written with any charm.
