Keeper League Question

For a keeper league where your keepers are based off of where they were drafted, such losing your 5th round pick next year if you kept Gio Bernard and that's where he went this season, how do you work around a team keeping two guys in one round? Say someone drafted one guy in the 4th and traded for someone who was also a 4th round pick, how do you compensate for that in next year's draft? They lose their 3rd round pick? Or something else?

Interesting predicament. Never seen that issue come up in my leagues.
Common sense just says he would lose a 3rd and 4th if he wanted to keep two 4th rounders.

That would be my initial assumption. I just wanted to check and see what some of you have done if that came up in your leagues.

Should only be allowed to keep guys you drafted or picked up as a FA. FAs get a last round grade.
It also avoids controversial trades going down toward the end of the season. i.e. Last place teams sends 2 or 3 of their best players to the 1st place team in exchange for a keeper.

Logically speaking, either they are restricted to one player from that round or lose a higher round.
Only these options make sense.

In our league, the second player in the same round can be kept in the previous round.

We do our dynasty league a lot different than most. We keep 12 out of our 20 and just re draft free agents and rookies in one draft like a normal re draft league

How is that controversial?
That's the point of keeper leagues. To keep people for the next year to build around.
I don't see a problem in a last-place team giving up a top player like Peterson or Charles (first-round keeper) for someone like Stacey or Bernard (late-round keeper).
It's not collusion because the first-place team is giving up a valuable asset for 2014 that could help their team.
