Needs to be able to recruit. Can't bring someone in to Louisiana State University who has never coached. Let him start at ULL.

while I don't think Kevin would take the job because itd take him away from his family, he actually has the skill set to coach.

He is a statesman from his days as NFLPA Pres, has been involved in various coaching scenarios (NFL camps and Vandy), and provides unmatched street cred.

It would be somewhat of a gamble not having long-term oline coaching experience, but its a good bet.

I think you can make an exception for a potential future NFL HOFer who is also an alum, if he was interested.

As far as recruiting, "Hi, I'm Kevin Mawae. You may remember me from my 16 season NFL career, and my 8 Pro Bowl appearances. Would you like to come play for LSU?"
