I agree with the OP. The strip is really nice, good to see the campus and nearby downtown areas blend together. The buildings aren't architecturally as interesting as LSU but they are spread out and has a good college feel about it. I think LSU's sorority row is nicer than anything on bama's campus.
As for the stadium, visually it is very nice. The bowl effect helps give the feel that it is bigger and more intimidating. The problem is everything else. The manufactured screaming from the strength coach. The lack of band presence and really boring pregame amaze me each time I go. For those who have been to both LSU and Bama for meaningful night games over the years realize there is no comparison as far as atmosphere goes. There is very little band involvement with the student section and most people at bama say their band sucks. Maybe thats why they dont play as often. What you dont get on TV is the lack of noise. There are at times when the stadium looks like it is really loud and the shakers are all going in unison. Then you listen and you can actually hear the sound of the shakers and no yelling. With all that said it is in the top 5 of SEC weekend experiences. Just helps to reconfirm that we have a special and unique experience at LSU that is second to none.
