A revelation: LSU fans are simply much more fun than Bama fans....

regardless of what happens in the game.
I watched the game in a predominately Bama bar, and I have to say Bama fans are pretty boring miserable people. They emulate their coach perfectly. I felt like I was at a funeral.
Sure we lost, our season is over, and we'll bash our goofy coach and team until next September, but by God if we don't have fun doing it. Even after the game we seemed to be the only people having a good time. Call me crazy, but if that's what so much success breeds then I don't want it. Or perhaps it's just their culture.
An older lady walked by around halftime and confirmed my sentiments, she said "I'm scared, not only of your team, but of your fans too." I thought what a compliment, yet how sad.
Here you are on your way to a 3rd NC in a row, playing a team that historically you've owned, and you're scared?? It seems they are so used to success, the mere thought of losing paralyzes them.
It's just football people. Life will go on win or lose. Let it control your attitude and you'll always be miserable.

Football is ALL they have. That's not a slam. It's reality.

Do you know what ole Miss's slogan is?

You hit the nail on the head. It's all they have. Their hopes , ambitions and dreams are lived through bama football. Some gump said last night in a nice way, I imagine Louisiana is on suicide watch after that good old fashioned Alabama backwoods arse kicking. I laughed and said "no" saints are on tomorrow , cookng etc while you all breakdown the replay of Eli goulds play by play replay on Wjox

Half of Louisiana don't care about the saints.
Good thing that's all they have over in Alabama.
They getting their money's worth.

We went into the game with 2 losses, pretty much no chance for an SEC or NC, and we should be on suicide watch losing as a 2 TD underdog? Haha

I seem to recall many LSU fans being the same way when he was our coach. Yes, winning games is the goal, but they are still games. The journey should be fun as well. Flame away, but I would much rather have a 2-3 loss/yr team with a coach and fanbase that can have fun than an undefeated season every year with a coach who can suck the life and fun out if the fanbase.

There is a healthy amount of fear/respect IMO when bama plays lsu. regardless of your rank or your current win/loss, it's guaranteed to be a game where both teams play like the worlds about to end.
and regarding quality of life between the two states, i don't think there's much to argue. louisiana has new orleans, mardi gras, it's own epicurean class (creole, french, etc.) a pro and college team that are in the national spotlight each season, and drive through alcohol frozen drink places (i can't remember what you guys call those.)
it has become the tendency of alabama fans to not only expect wins, but not celebrate them as much due to those expectations. at the beginning of each game they run the sound bite about how "at some places they play football. at alabama, we live it." i think that the state literally identifies itself on a national level through college football (namely auburn and bama). it is what it is.

Clearly he doesn't read the rant. If he did, he would know that we were on suicide watch after the Georgia game, then we all jumped off the cliff after the Ole Miss game. There were a handful who survived the jump and were trying not to drown but they all died last night too. We all knew this was coming.

thanks, you'll see me on here more and more. i'm probably the most pessimistic fan you'll ever meet, but like to consider myself a realist. not much of a trash talker, unless someone is just classless.
after reading these forums though, it seems like a lot of the lsu fans are pretty down on the team this year. you guys have to realize that you can't have half your team go to the nfl year in and year out and expect to play for the national championship each year. lsu will be back in national title contention either next year or the year after when the young players are bit more experienced. just my opinion.
