You can't scrap the EU entirely like some idiots have suggested because that conflicts what has been shown on screen with the Lucasfilm created Shadows of the Empire which has leeched into the OT. The best way to look at the EU as long as it doesn't contract what is in the movies its still canon. But nothing they can come with in a year can match the Yuuzhan Vong.
