Day 21: Sophomore #6 Andrew Stevenson
LSU Profile
Andrew is an outfielder from Lafayette, LA who started most of the games toward the end of last season due to his excellent defense. And while he had some difficulty adjusting to college pitching, he's made great strides over the summer and fall. For the Lakeshore Chinooks in the 2013 Northwoods Summer League, he recorded nine doubles, three triples, two homers, 20 RBI and 13 stolen bases while hitting .363 in 40 games. #nb4L=C
2013 Season:
Day 22: Junior #28 Kyle Bouman
LSU Profile
Kyle is a LHP and JC transfer who's had his share of ups and downs in college, not all of which were on the baseball field. But as he pulled his personal life together, his focus and performance on the field has blossomed. He'll be a guy who can be relied upon early in the season and early in games if necessary for long relief.
2013 Season:
Day 23: Junior #21 Joe Broussard
LSU Profile
Joe (a RHP) was another victim of a UCL tear in the summer of 2012 and got "Tommy John" surgery. He would have been relied upon heavily last year, but he may be even more important this year.

Played in 54 games (33 starts), batting .193 (23-for-119) with one homer, 14 RBI, 22 runs and five steals … 2-for-2 in Game 2 of NCAA Super Regional versus Oklahoma (June 8) with one RBI and one run scored … provided a spectacular running catch in left-centerfield with two out and bases loaded in 5th inning of SEC Tournament title game vs. Vanderbilt - the catch prevented three runs from scoring and preserved 4-2 LSU lead; the Tigers went on to claim a 5-4 victory and win the SEC Tournament … 2-for-4 at the plate in the SEC Tournament win over Vanderbilt with one RBI … collected three hits in Texas A&M series (May 9-11) with two runs scored and one RBI … provided two hits, one run scored and three RBI in final two games of Florida series (May 3-4) … 2-for-4 at Tulane (March 26) with two RBI and two runs scored … launched first collegiate home run, a solo shot, versus Stephen F. Austin on March 5.

Down 8-1 against Owensboro (Ky.) Southern, the Lafayette Little Leaguers rallied and overcame that 7-run deficit, ultimately breaking an 8-8 tie in the sixth inning. And who scored the winning run? You guessed it: Andrew Stevenson.
Day 22: Junior #28 Kyle Bouman
LSU Profile

2013 Season:
quote:Kyle Turns His Life Around---------------------------------------------------
Kyle is the most recent addition to our class after playing his freshman year at Wichita State University and sophomore year at Jefferson County Community College in Missouri. He is a three-pitch mix lefty that can throw any pitch in any count to keep hitters off balance. Our hope for Kyle is that he can turn into the kind of lefty that Chris Cotton ended up being for us. Kyle is having a great summer - making the All-Star team in the Northwoods League. After losing seven of our top 11 pitchers from our 2013 College World Series team, adding a proven college pitcher with two years of experience gives us more confidence in our 2014 staff.
Day 23: Junior #21 Joe Broussard
LSU Profile
Joe (a RHP) was another victim of a UCL tear in the summer of 2012 and got "Tommy John" surgery. He would have been relied upon heavily last year, but he may be even more important this year.
2013 Season:
quote:Joe Will Be Ready
Suffered an ulnar collateral tear in his pitching elbow in the summer of 2012 while playing in the Cape Cod League, and he received a medical redshirt for the 2013 season as he rehabilitated after surgery.
quote:
"I thought Joe Broussard would've had a vital role for our team last year, either as a closer or a No. 3 starter," Mainieri said.
quote:
When he gets back to work, Broussard will look to recapture the form that made him one of the more reliable relievers out of the LSU bullpen at the end of the 2012 season when he finished 4-1 with a 3.74 ERA, 45 strikeouts and only 12 walks in 41 innings.
