Below is the first look at Helix, which is executive produced by Ron Moore, with Steven Maeda (Lost) as showrunner. The 13-episode drama is a “thriller about a team of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control who travel to the high-tech research facility to investigate a possible disease outbreak, only to find themselves pulled into a terrifying life-and-death struggle that may hold the key to mankind’s salvation or total annihilation. However, the lethal threat is just the tip of the iceberg, and as the virus evolves, the chilling truth begins to unravel.”
Billy Campbell (The Killing) stars as Dr. Alan Farragut, leader of the CDC team, and Hiroyuki Sanada (The Wolverine) stars as director of Arctic BioSystems and its “mysterious viral research program.”

I get kind of a "The Thing" vibe from the trailer. Can't wait to see this show.
New extended and better trailer

Will watch.
It looks solid anyways, but it's Ron Moore, it's bound to be inventive.

Holy shite. I was just guessing/joking.

Sounds interesting. Caprica was horrendous so here's hoping for something better from Moore.

fricking well done.
This looks decent I guess. It's funny that the "extended" trailer is almost exactly as long as the first one though.

Anyone watch this. I set the DVR. Is it worth a watch?

Curious about this as well. It looked like it might be good. I didn't record, but wondering if I should check it out.

I sort of half-watched but picked up the entirety as SyFy has been repeating it non-stop since the initial premier time slot. It's essentially a take on the Andromeda Strain with shades of something more sinister going on in the background. Cast and acting is decent but it doesn't really grab me. While Moore is the executive producer apparently he didn't write the script… and without knowing Moore was attached to this I couldn't really differentiate it from one of those standard SyFy channel movies with slightly better production values/actors. It's not bad but it's not particularly good, either.

I enjoyed the initial 90 minute installment. There's a great deal of underlying detail to set up and almost nothing, other than an infectious outbreak is on the lose, was really put forth.
We do know there are liars and murderers among the group but we don't know their agenda yet.

Agreed. Definitely going to give it a shot. Didn't get my attention and rope me in from the start like I was hoping.
I'm more excited about Orphan Black and Continuum coming back in a few months though.
