Get as much documentaion in place as you can. A police report, official complaints with BBB and whatever else you can think of. That and troll the shite out of everything the guy shows up on.

I won't ever pay for product again without having it in hand for something like this. He just seemed like a good ol boy who had. A legit business and I understand why he would want half down for materials. Oh well lesson learned.
