oh yeah!

7th grade. decided to go squirrel hunting with a slingshot in the woods behind the house. i had been hunting for about 30 mins with no success, and i was about to give up when i finally came across a squirrel. i see him climbing up one of those big creeper vines. he spots me and he jumps off the vine onto a dead tree. no limbs, just a bare-arse trunk maybe 10" across and 30' tall, all holey from the woodpeckers and half-rotten. i proceed to miss the squirrel 15 times (all of the rocks i had) with the slingshot while i circle around the tree. he sticks tight on the tree though for a few seconds, because it's kind of a long jump to the nearest branch, and i get the bright idea to try and shake down the whole tree. i start shaking the tree back and forth, back and forth, and i can see the squirrel on the very top of the tree. his tail is waving back and forth every time i swing the tree. finally, after what seems like an eternity, he tries to jump to a nearby branch, but he mis-times his jump. he completely misses the next tree and hits the ground 5 ft from me. before he can take a step i'm on him, stomping his head with my tennis shoe. i brought it inside all excited and mom nearly loses her lunch. when dad got home we cleaned it though & put it in the freezer.
