My last shot at Miles haters to think logically....

I am posting about this again because it still boggles my mind how so many LSU fans want this guy gone.
LSU is in the best stretch in the history of the program in the last 10 years since 2003. This is the best 10 year period and its not even close and you can not argue that. Les Miles has been the coach for a majority of those 10 years.
Is he perfect, not even close. I scream like crazy at some of the calls I see sometimes. The time management issues, the timeouts, or not calling timeouts. It drives me crazy.
The position of head coach at a major program is like the CEO. In that aspect he has some great skills. He is a great recruiter, he has made some good hires at coordinators, and his players love him. He has some flaws for sure. Game management seems to be one of them. But there are plenty of great football coaches out there that couldnt be a head coach. Nick Saban happens to be one who seems to be able to do it all.
I will finish with this. Since 2005 name one program, other than Alabama and Saban and Florida and Meyer, that you would trade LSU and Miles for?
Saban or Meyer aren't coming to Baton Rouge. So who can you hire, that without hesitation will continue the success we have had?
He drives me crazy at times, but the guy has a proven record over a long period of time and there is no arguing that. The same guy that has made the mistakes coaching has also been on the sidelines for all those victories as well. You can't just point out the negatives.
BEAT BAMA!!

If he could just learn how to not f&%k up the last two minutes of games, we wouldn't have to have this thread.

Amen!!!!
I take the good with the bad, because the former far outweighs the latter.

Don't tell me what to do.

I understand your point.
I was just reading a thread where Bama posters where basically calling Miles a buffoon. Most of the country feels that way. He has great seasons...but why does no other school want to hire him? Seriously? Sumlin has JFF...what else? But he's in demand.
Have you watched a tight game that LSU plays without the announcers talking about "clock management issues?" He is great in blowouts...what coach isn't? But if it's a game that requires scheming...well screw that. We scripted this game in our heads this week and it better work because we planned it that way. That has been the biggest change I've seen with Cam. We started capitalizing on other teams weaknesses.

Good point
ETA Sorry, but Miles has become a joke. He's done great things here but there comes a time when you have to see the writing on the wall. Not every coach succeeds forever. The decline is upon us.

Dude, these people are a collective bunch of idiots. You can't rationalize with stupid, immature, misinformed, and antagonistic.
That covers 98% of this board. That leaves you, me and a handful of others

He's done well at keeping LSU from declining, but the guys hasn't done that much in my eyes. Yes he won a championship, but with 2 losses. How many other coaches have done that? Any other year with 2 losses and that doesn't happen so he got lucky. Get to the national championship, great season, then he ruins the shite. Jamarcus last year he shouldn't have lost 2 games. This year so far he shouldn't have lost 2 games. Last year he definitely shouldn't have. So I don't care you can't change my mind about him. Not saying he doesn't recruit well but also not saying a lot of coaches couldn't recruit as good as him if they were at LSU

so your justification is that he is worthy of being the FOURTH HIGHEST paid coach in the country based on his recruiting. Because he cant coach for shite on gameday. He's Bobby Bowden 2.0 - matchup football. "I'm just going to recruit players that are faster and stronger than your players"
you pay the man $1.5 to $2 mil a year? yeah, maybe I dont have much room to complain, as that is an average SEC coach salary
But $4 mil+ ???? You better bring the lumber, all day, every day - you don't get any "grace" or "slack" - not for that money. For any individual that makes that much coin, that much above the industry average, I will bitch, gripe, moan, complain and criticize him all day till my heart's content. For $4 mil per, you don't ever make those boneheaded mistakes

There's no denying we've had the best stretch for LSU. I just don't attribute that to Miles I feel like we've won in spite of him. You mention great coordinator hires. He's also made some terrible hires/appointments at coordinator. What baffles me the most is why people can't understand this:
Prior to Saban we missed out on the majority of the top prospects in LA. They went to other schools. Saban started a trend of getting those players. Miles kept it going but I believe these kids just wanted to play for their home state and now that we're good that decision is easier for them to make. look I hate Saban but you can't deny what the guy started. Miles has been the benefactor of that talent staying home to play football. I know you also said he's a CEO or manager but in my opinion coaches should be more than that until they e earned he right to be a manager like Bowden did at FSU. Miles really doesn't seem to offer any expertise in any area. He's also not a great game day coach. Just my opinion
