The Alabama game holds critical PROGRAM implications for LSU

Win it and the Swag is back, and optimism will reign.
Lose it and the gloom and doom will swamp the LSU culture.
I am optimistic by nature. I am a "Les Miles guy". I celebrate wins, and shake off losses. I view LSU through the prism of JOY, have followed it as the single great passion of my life since I was seven years old. I went to games with my Pops and late brother as a wee lad. I went to The Prince Murat on Nicholson with my allowance money to watch the pay per view game against Bama in 1982.I wept when we beat Oklahoma for a BCSNC in 2004. I lived on the LSU campus for five years of my life and know every inch of that campus. I tailgate and socialize with people I went to school with. I bring my children and teach them the dying PERSONAL ETHIC of making noise, supporting LSU and staying until the very last play of the game.
That said, this game is a harbinger of things to come. We either right the ship, punch them in their arrogant-redneck faces or we get our arse beat and take a seat in the third row next to Georgia and Oklahoma. Period.
Either way, in two weeks, WE FIND OUT WHO WE ARE.
Lose it and the gloom and doom will swamp the LSU culture.

"24 minutes for the next 24 minutes."

Much more an implication of the culture than reality.
Bama gets to break in a new QB next year, AJ has been outstanding. Things will reshuffle.

Win or lose, 4-life.
frick Bama.
frick Bama.

Agreed, My fear is LSU getting embarrassed again like 1/9.

, we know who we are. A team with a good offense and a mediocre defense. We are playing a team with a good offense and a great defense. Defense wins.
Winning against Bama shouldn't change anyone's opinion. But if we do, half the posters that are writing syllabuses to indict the program will now be singing its greatness and thinking we get a shot at the BCS

Exact same thing was said when AJ took over for McElroy and guess what happened?
They won the NC

We found out who you were on 1/9. And you suck. Bad.
You can say that all you want. I'll still cheer foe the Tigers every game.
How much does it get under your skin that I'm a fellow Tiger fan?

Les Miles will have taken some steps back from Saban's dominance if he loses 3 in a row.
I don't even know what to expect in 2 weeks.

It's really not that common. It's not going to happen every time...but we shall see.

I think the A&M game is more important.
-LSU fans expect to lose to Alabama this year, and badly.
-A&M has a horrid defense
-A&M is the last game of the regular season.

It just boils down to being a buzzkill
Not many people appreciate buzzkills

nah. one game in an off year is no harbinger of things to come. in '02 we lost 5 games and won the NC the very next year. it's sports man. as long as La produces talent and miles and co. recruit and coach well, LSU will be a player.

Most prob the most important game in Les Miles coaching tenure at LSU.
