I have been in the Georgia Dome several times (most recently at the Peach Bowl) and it is fine (not great, but not awful).

It is just stupid to spend that much money on a new stadium when you have a serviceable one. What a waste of resources. Atlanta is moving in the right direction, and there is a LOT that the city could do with that money (and yes, I realize the city isn't footing the whole bill).

I don't know where to begin.

How is it a waste of resources? What do you suggest the city should have spent the money on? keep in mind this is coming from a hotel tax where the money can only be used on things that boost tourism.

You cant say "they should have used the money on education", that isn't possible.

Sounds like you know where to begin after all.

I'm just glad it will most likely bring a MLS team with it.

i'll never understand residents of a city telling another city with plenty of resources how to spend their money...

should make for an awesome SECCG venue when it's all said and done. The GA Dome is adequate, but nothing special.
