The police almost always arrest in cases like this. An arrest doesn't mean that the arrested person is guilty. To me a domestic violence complaint is what it sounds like, but it could be anything from total bullshite to an attempted rape from what has been reported. I just suggested that we wait until all the facts are in before we decide on an appropriate punishment.
Actually, never said he should be treated differently just because he is a football player, just that we should not rush to judgment.
Part of the problem is that there is a high percentage of homicides in the state that result from domestic disturbances. Basically, Louisiana does not fool around when a woman reports violence against her by a man. In fact, DA's will not drop charges even if the victim comes forward to do so herself. Evidence is not something that is considered until trial phase or if there is an arraignment followed by a status conference.
All of that notwithstanding, a domestic violence charge is one of the few where the court of public opinion is always the loudest & many times you're presumed guilty right off the bat.
