Creative parking and congestion solution

Could a long trolley-train of sorts be used to transport people to the stadium from north baton rouge or gretna or whever those tracks wind up? The tracks go right by the stadium and could help spread out parking. Also a ferry going up and down the mississippi isn't an awful idea.
Thoughts?

You'd never get there in time.

The new nicholson development plans have an option of a trolley line running from downtown to LSU.
But that plan has been lessened and lessened from what it was 2 yrs ago. Once again, cheap rules!
Can't LSU have several of those shuttles like the airport parking services such as park n fly?
There are some huge fields on Nicholson and River Road that would be great for a large parking lot with shuttles.

Not bad ideas, but pretty pricey solutions to be used only a couple of nights per year...

Yes, maybe for a baseball game or two during regionals, bayou country superfest, and perhaps can open itself up (if done correctly) to small concerts and other events at these locations.

I don't think it would be that pricey.
The tracks are already built most importantly. And im not suggesting a fancy locomotive or japanese bullet train. Just a transport trolley train.

The tracks are railroad gauge, you can't put a street car (one with a trolley) or light rail on them.
Until the early 60's a train came from New Orleans to the game, is that economically feasible today?
Amtrak isn't going to do it? Who has an engine and passenger cars?

For the people that have ever been to Disney World, what about something like the trams that take you from the parking lot to the amusement park.

actually, the NO Public Belt Railroad had three recently refurbished passenger cars....there is also the Louisiana Steam Train Association which owns SP-745 and several passenger cars as well...
there are streetcars in standard gauge, but how do you provide power?
what you really need are some self-propelled commuter train cars, but the closest place that has them is probably Chicago....
