'Breaking Bad' Spin-Off: Better Call Saul (Spoiler)

So, you just wrapped one of the most critically acclaimed TV dramas of all time in which (spoiler alert!) the star went out in a blaze of machine gun glory? and your other main character limped off into the darkness.
Great job, now how do you get them back on TV? If you're "Breaking Bad" creator Vince Gilligan that's just one of the biggest challenges facing "Bad" spin-off "Better Call Saul."
But after coming down from the "Bad" finale high, Gilligan is finally tucking into "Saul," which he told the Hollywood Reporter has already evolved from a half-hour sitcom to a one-hour drama.

Someone is going to bitch about this thread. Delete everything after the colon and put spoiler in the title. Your tiny little spoiler in parentheses is not enough.
Just an FYI
Also we all know about this series.
After those notes. I am excited about this. Odenkirk is an awesome actor and I ld love to watch a show centered around him. Especially as Saul Goodman.

I'm sure a cameo would be pretty cool and not that hard to do.

I would love for the series to incorporate a flash forward to Saul Managing a fast food joint in Nebraska .

I wonder how they'll do the cameos if so. If it's Walt, it obviously couldn't be the present if this were to be set after BBs events.

It's going to be before Walt.
He was already a professional criminal cover-up attorney before Walt started his empire.

Is Jonathan Banks going to be on this series as Mike?

I read an article where Vince said Mike may be a major character. It also said we may see Jesse and Walt pop up at some point in the series.

It would have to be close to the end. I mean he ruined Saul's life.

I bet we'll see Gus too. Oh, and plenty of Badger, Skinny Pete and Huell.

What did he disappear for anyhow?

Poor Saul, I mean he was minding his own business as a "criminal" lawyer until...

I wonder how many people get sent to Belize if this is a dramedy.

Not sure how they could have Jesse and Walt cameos if it's set before the events of BB -- Saul had never met either of them prior to it. More Mike, Kuby, and Huell is a good thing.

Jesse knew of Saul, at least.
As for Walt, Saul could take his car to be washed, see Bogdan berating some non-descript middle-aged sad sack, and make some ironic comment, maybe along the lines of being willing to represent that man for free if he went berserk and killed his abusive boss, that terrorist with the eyebrows. If you think this is stupid, I wouldn't disagree, but how else would Saul run across Walt?

Yeah, I don't know how this is going to work with Walt and Jesse cameos. If it's a prequel, Saul hasn't met Walt and Jesse yet. If the timeline is after the end of Breaking Bad, Walt is gone and it's very unlikely that Jesse will ever deal with Saul again. The only way it might work is if the show's happening in the same timeline as Breaking Bad.

So why did Saul have to go into hiding with a new identity and everything?
