Which begs the question, why would any company go through the additional time and expense to produce the product with a cello wrapper then? Would it not save them time and money to simply skip the step if its not required? Doesn't make much sense does it? It's because you are wrong...

Cigars are cello wrapped because multiple States have revenue codes that require cigars to be individually wrapped. In response, virtually all of the cigar manufacturers elect to cello wrap their cigars that are exported to the US. It's simply easier than deciding to wrap cigars for TN, WI, FL and multiple other States while leaving wrappers off of cigars where it's not required.

You must have a really big bung hole, because you pulled all of that out of your arse.

Cellophane is used to protect the humidity levels, to protect from bugs and beetles, but most of all to protect the delicate tobacco wrapper. But back to my original statement, there is no US law that requires cellophane wrappers in order to be sold.
