Dallas has been mentioned. When the Cowboys came into existence, they used clout, influence, money, etc to have themselves put with teams in the East, because that's where the big markets are (New York, Washington and Philadelphia). They have been able to stay in the NFC East, so twice a year they play teams from those markets...more money, etc. Genius move by the COwboys. In reality, Carolina or Atlanta should be in the NFC East and the Cowboys in with the Saints (Cowboys - Saints should be a rivalry), but at this point, with the Cowboys NFC East rivalries, nothing will change and the Cowboys will be watched on the East Coast, rake in the dough and remain to many...America's team.

I am from NOLA, but, I lived near NYC for a few years after 9/11. I was stationed there with the military.

I was shocked to learn the rather large following the Dallas Cowboys enjoy in the NYC market area. These NYC Dallas Cowboys fans are not transplants from Texas. No, indeed, these Cowboys fans are born and raised New Yorkers.

How did they become Cowboys fans? I asked one of them, and he told me that he became a Cowboys fan back in the 60s and 70s when the Giants stunk.

How's that for hometown loyalty?

Any chance that the Falcons can suck bad enough to trigger the growth of some native Georgian Saints fans, I wonder?
