As many FDB readers know, I love a good hotdog ( or a burger)
Anyway, my parts warehouse is in Fat city so I decided to stop in at this Fat City Franks place.
First off they have a full bar, and some decent beers on tap. I went for a Canebreak.
The hot dog choices are between $6-8 dollars. So it is no cheaper than Dat Dog. They don't have the selection of sausages or dogs either.
But like Diva Dog (which I seem to be the only one here to like) they have specialty dogs.
The day I went there was a thread on here about Philly Cheesesteaks so I went with the Cheesesteak Dog.
The bread had a good flavor and was very very similar to Dat Dogs, almost a copy.
The dog itself had a nice bite to it. It was flavorful. I would have preferred the cheese to be a little melted, maybe a couple of seconds under a salamander. Also it needed spice, it was more sweet than anything.
All in all not bad, I would like to try the Chicago dog as that is one of my favorites, and I'm sure it's better than Wienerschnitzel which is where I first had such a dog. (also why does Wienerschnitzel, not serve fried veal cutlets? isn't the name misleading? lol)
All in all worth a fat city stop. But with Bears and Phil's Grill each on other sides of the district, it's hardly the best spot for a fat guy lunch sandwich.

Always see this place when I leave Kanno but never think about eating there til after I already ate. Judging from the pic it doesn't look to good. Like you said too many good lunch spots in the area.

Nothing made me want to make a second special trip. The waitress was cute, and it's near Ideal on Division (bear's is even closer though) which are my only plusses.
It wasn't bad, just not enough to make me want to pay $15 for a beer, hotdog and fries again.

I didn't know that. They taken over. I remember bottom line having a good late night burger back in the day.

Saw a groupon for this place and since I've never been I was thinking of trying it. $15 worth of food for $7. For those who have been, would you say it is worth it?
