It would be so easy to let northern teams play day games and southern teams play night games. They don't like playing at night anyway.

I think a big part of the problem is that all the people in power sit in suites. They are in a sterile environment, closed off from the environment, piped in music, heat etc. They have big TV monitors with network coverage, private restrooms, alcohol and wifi. They have no idea what the fan experience is. Oh a day game in 90+ degree heat no problem, Buffy and I can have dinner at the club.
