The fricking bought the japanese gold and silver versions before the Americans were ever released. Think i was like a year ahead of the American release.

The old Blue and Red versions.

Games like Pokemon are so much more fun without the internet. We would run around and not know if it was the first time someone had come across something. lol

Like previously discussed; going to Books A Million on Saturdays was heaven. You would talk about the secrets you had discovered and battle.. then just talk nerd kid shtt.

I remember the christmas I got my pokemon yellow 5special edition bundle.

We were at our family get together and I brought my official nintendo strategy guide, and on the page right before it showed all 150 pokemon with stat ranges, there was a grid with all 150 pokemon on it with no names by them or anything.

I was sitting by my uncle and he asked me if I could name all 150 without looking at anything. I did, and he was convinced I was bullshitting when I got to names like "Staryu" and "Starmie"
