The claim 6 years ago was that it was to manage time constraints during pregame to allow for the entire Alma mater to be played. Realistically, it was because it included the word "assholes" in the chant.

That was never the claim. It was always because of Tiger Rag Assholes.
And it was banned in the 80's for a while, then brought back after a decade or so. Expect it back in about 5 years.

It's stupid that we allow those "offended" assholes dictate what can and can't be played when the majority of these people leave at half
