Many rednecks can now afford to buy a flat screen and stay home to watch the game rather than spend money to go to an LSU game. Push out the poor with higher prices, parking, etc and you get a "little" bit more classy fans from Baton Rouge. Not much but a little. Baton Rouge doesn't really offer much entertainment which is why 92,600 fans continue to pay to see LSU play. It's a big party in BR on Saturday. Where else can you go and have more fun than tailgating at LSU?

My seats are in the North EZ. I can tell you exactly why the stadium looked like crap at kickoff, because 25,000 people were trying to buy water. It's crazy how long it takes to buy water or take a piss. Why would anybody want to miss half a quarter to wait in line for water. During day games LSU should have vendors walking up and down the aisles selling water. We left at halftime for that reason and that reason only it was hot as frick and in order to get water you had to miss a shite ton of the game. frick that.

That's just the issue. My wife and I have been attending LSU games for over 40 years ( me for over 50 ). After parking screwups, incomvenient tailgating, band, and more than anything, pathetic schedules we just said this isn't as much fun anymore. We have a 2 game home schedule this year, Fla and A&M, which I admit is as many as bama plays, and a lot of pretend games against Towson and East Bumfrick. Nothing like the schedules that Cholly Mac played, against Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Southern Cal, Colorado,Fla State, Miami, and all the SEC teams. A 7-4 season in the 70's or 80's was a lot more respectable and entertaining than a 10-2 schedule now. The long and short of it is that the rabid fan base has become a customer base.
So my 2 bits worth is add scheduling to OP's original list of buzzkills. I'll spend my Saturday mornings fishing and then watch the game on the tube.

I know I'm probably not in the majority here...
To hell with class! I want opposing teams AND fans to fear Death Valley. I want them leaving thinking "holy shite, WTF just happened, that was surreal"
I don't want spitting MSU fans, but I want the opposing team and fans and band to get a non-stop earful.
ETA: sorry, should read all before responding. If I did that I wouldn't have 3 or 4 posts. my bad.
