okay i would say that i am an expert on food on 190..why because i grew up in melville right down the road from krotz springs. Billys boudin balls are the best in this state period. i would go to billy/rays in Op. Just stay on 190 go right past the race track and take a left at first red light. when you come to the next light billys is on your left. the real secrect in OP is Mammas fried chicken. its like homemade popeyes. its 2 redlights past racetrack on 190. oh yea get some Rays boudin also its a classic.

A question for you St Landry people..
Is Meche's in Opelousas still open ?
I know it was the rough part of town 20 years ago.
I can't imagine today
But its about Gumbo time and I need Sausage.

The crispiest, crunchiest golden fried chicken goodness ever served in a brown paper bag.. Definitely get a biscuit.. not a roll.
