What specifically did you think it was restrictive of? Obviously wavedashing, but is there a certain class of characters that was restrictive, like speed or ariel characters? I've heard they nerfed Marth and Fox, but I'm hoping that Lucina is a pretty unaltered Marth from Melee, and maybe Falco can come to the rescue of Fox.

Aerial landing lag is a huge issue at the moment. More specifically, aerial landing lag when coming out of an attack. Landing lag after an air dodge is good, as it punishes those for avoiding air attacks and makes them more vulnerable on the ground if they decide to avoid the attack in the air.

However, landing lag on aerial attacks encumbers more experienced players who know the character movesets and know exactly what they want to do and how they want to do it. When attacking in the air and then landing, most characters will experience substantial amounts of lag when landing - more specifically, the amount of frames has drastically increased from the point your character hits the ground to the point when you're allowed to control your character again. Your character effectively becomes "locked" in a recovery animation after landing.

During the Best Buy event, I found myself mashing buttons on my controller, as all of my bairs, fairs, and dairs were corrupted with heavy amounts landing lag, and my characters would resultantly "stick" to the ground after performing an aerial attack. This slows down the game significantly.

Additionally, the overall control over characters just isn't that tight. In Melee, if you thought about doing something with your character, you could do it. In Smash 4, movements feel labored and tired, and the characters don't react well enough or fast enough to your input.

I played as Bowser, Wii Fit Trainer, Mega Man, Little Mac, and Pikachu. This isn't merely an issue with a certain class of characters, but rather an inherent problem with the way the engine is running.

Both have been nerfed. Fox was nerfed in Brawl, and the trend continues here.

Marth is slower, and again, experiences fairly significant landing lag on many of his aerial attacks. However, from the trailer, it appears that Lucina sports an almost identical moveset while being much faster as well.
