It's hard to tell when there are so many issues that need improvement.

i hate to trash a player AND i'm no football genius but my impression of him has never been that good. plus he gets injured every game. he just doesn't seem to have very good "instinct" on the field. i admit to not ever watching game film on him though.

no

edit:

Murray was a very good QB with all day to pick apart our d. Loston was out of place but it is impossible to cover everyone when the QB has that much time.

If we are going to see any improvement it is going to be from our a d line generating a pass rush.

Even though he took bad angles earlier this year, we are better with him. Experience is needed on that side of the ball.

He's not a difference-maker.

I've never thought Loston was that great, which is why I was puzzled as to why he was trying to leave last year.

I don't remember his HS rating but I remember him being pretty highly rated. I don't think he lived up to the rating.

I don't think our D would be any worse off without him.

He's a great run supporter but his pass cover skills leave something to be desired. So we lose something with him in and lose something when he's out.

I do not think Loston's presence or absence was the source of the defensive issues. He will likely improve at the same rate as the rest of the defense. Let us hope that the defensive effort in the second half of the game against Mississippi State is not aberration.

Morris Claiborne was pretty crappy when he was younger. He's now an nfl stud. Give the chief a little time to do his job with these guys.
