My one complaint from last night: starters in late

Last night victory was secured, score 52-26 with close to 7 minutes left. Why was Mett and the starting O-line still in the game? I just cant figure out why our staff doesn't take the opportunity to get back ups PT and more importantly keeps starters from unnecessary injury. I know no one got hurt, but I just don't think it is very smart

This has been probably been discussed 100 times.
What is the point of bringing in the backup QB when the score is 52-26?
Do you really think bringing in Jennings and having him hand the football off a few times is going to give him good prep for next season?

I know discussed thousands of times but in all seriousness, why would you risk starters injury with the game already decided?

Yes, I do. When Jennings has been in, LSU has run a read scheme. It is good practice, especially since we have fumbled in that scheme this year.

Meanwhile, I nearly came in my shorts when we punched one in for another TD. It has always bugs me when Miles kneels late in the 4th instead of getting a few extra thrusts in so to speak.

there was a thread about this last night. I dont really have a problem with it, more pt for the starters.

i guess we'll never get our coaches trained. the mofo's need to pay more attention to this thread.

Let the players pad up their stats. I see no problem.

There was no excuse for having Hill in that long and he went off limping
A bigger complaint would be why do we continue to lead the country in wasting TO's?
We might as well just go ahead and make it part of our game plan to call a TO after every quarter break or TV timeout and follow that up with a delay of game or false start

Uhhh...not getting your starter hurt in garbage time?

See Ben Wilkerson - Vanderbilt 2004...that's why....or Matt Mauck - Florida 2002

Do you not remember 2002 Mauck breaking his leg after we had the game wrapped up against UF, lost him for rest of year?

No, but it's not going to hurt.

this is only valid when we pay for it, hasn't happened yet. it is a bit frustrating and nerve racking though.

to me, it's stat padding and a little more
after a huge high profile loss, les needs big wins this week and next to keep the polls tiger-happy.
hanging 59pts in a conference game is a good start. (i wanted the 2pt conversion SO bad on that last drive)

Uhh so Mett was going to get hurt handing the ball off to Blue and Magee a few more times? Great point.
If you are alluding to a lineman possibly getting hurt, I said nothing about not changing the OL. I specifically said the backup QB.

Who knows....he hands the ball off, RB fumbles....someone crashes into Mett's knee as they all dive for the ball.
Hell man, people tear ACL's without getting touched. Go figure.
Football is a pretty violent sport. People start fighting even during kneel downs.

Im on the fence with this one, the OL looked gassed to me last night, but got better in the 2nd half. so maybe its just experience. Hawkins was having an issue with leverage on Chris Jones so maybe they want them to get more game work?
