i think it sort of depends on your perspective. On the one hand it does give them an easier path to Atlanta and they only have to get "up" for many 1 or 2 more games the rest of the way.
On the other hand I do think there is something to have been tested under fire many time. It speeds up the maturity process and gives your players confidence in themselves as well as fosters the team bond.

We lost to ga in a close game, and I think had one of a number of things happened a little differently, we win that game.
I think ONE of those things was ga already being battle tested. The fact that we have already lost, and will have played tougher competition will help us out against Bama IMHO
