LSU all-time stats: Most Rushing Yards in LSU history

Will we ever see a back come close to that 4,000 career yard mark again? I will say no because of the lack of a featured back and the more of a run by committee these days.
Some of those attempts are mind blowing and Kevin Faulk was just the best we'll probably ever see.
**since 1970
LSU all-time stats
Cannon rush 1867 yds 19td rec 552 yds 2td (3years)
Faulk aso added rec 600yds 4 tds

Hilliard's longest run was only 33 yards? That seems strange.

LF will come in and get significant playing time as a Freshman. I could see him getting close to 3000 if he pans out as projected
You found that strange but not Charles Scott and Joseph Adaii having a long of 0 yards?

quote:Hill is definitely a featured back imo. In past years, its been more of a committee. I could see Fournette doing this if/when he starts as a true frosh.

Yep, when LF gets here.

The only way it would happen is if you got a guy like a Fournette who comes in as a true freshman and starts and dominates playing time from day one put up over 1,300 per in three years before he goes pro. It would have to be three incredible years instead of four really good ones, because that guy would leave before he got to 4,000. Honestly, barring injury, if we get Fournette here I'd bet he'd pass Harvey at least and push that top group.
The committee thing is a non issue when we have a feature back...Miles has ridden a few guys since he's been here and all have gone over 1,000. It's up to one to stand out, like Hill this year.

Seems unlikely but not an improbability. The way that CLM likes to use all his backs on top of the fact that RB's are tending to leave as soon as they can be drafted in a decent round in order to keep the wear and tear down to a minimum along with avoiding injury just kind of points to leaving early and not staying 4 years. The exception is a player that gets hurt or will not get drafted high enough to leave early which means he probably is not getting the rock enough in the first place.

Well that is obviously just a lack of data

I agree. Kinda puts what Faulk did in perspective. I think LF could defiantly push that 5-10 group.

Rondell Mealy was my hero when I was a kid. Yeah Kevin Faulk was awesome and on the team at the same time but Rondell was my dog.
It's unfortunate his career in the NFL playing for GB didn't work out.

it still amazes me that neither kevin faulk or dalton hilliard sustained an injury preventing them from meaningful pt. damn, they got hammered consistently.

A "soon" on that picture would of been a more appropriate response

What amazes me is the amount of attempts and then their NFL careers

The only person I can possibly see coming close is LF if he has a decent line, which he should. But to see that about Faulk is a true testiment to how awesome he was! He was pretty much the team, teams knew that, they would gameplan for him and he still got his. Then to tack on how long he played in New England in the NFL is insane. That dude was an animal!

Looked down the list and saw Felix Lee. First thought was "who the heck is that?". Never heard Buddy called by his first name before.

Who was drafted higher James or Hilliard?
Posted on 10/3/13 at 12:38 pm to LSUcajun77
Hilliards longest run was vs Notre Dame 76 yrds I think. I was there.
