Take treated 4X4s and notch the top 8 inches to accept the posts you have. Set them and then encase with 6x6 boards to seal everything in place.
Alternate. Size metal pipes that the current posts will drop down into. Cut off current posts leaving a foot of post and drop them down into the posts.
Alternate. Csll carport folks and see if they sell taller posts.

this is probably the easiest solution that would work IMO
run a couple of bolts through the pipe in that top foot to secure the current post to the pipe, and anchor the pipes with a good bit of concrete
wind is gonna create a good bit of uplift on that roof, so you want good anchorage
