Not all jazz. Some of it is just about the live performance.
Personally, I found the little Phish that I have listened to to be tedious and boring. It's just not my thing. But some people apparently like the experience of seeing them live. Which I imagine includes getting shite faced and all that jazz. But just because the studio side of them sucks, that doesn't discredit the live experience. Whatever that may be. I just thing that its incorrect to measure all bands by the same commercial rubric.
