Problem with LSU D: D-line is soft and can't create turnovers

The D-line seems a little soft. They aren't getting to the QB enough, and they aren't stuffing the run.

Lack of pressure on the QB makes it easier to pass, too.

And the soft d-line makes it harder to create turnovers.

At this point last year, LSU had created 10 turnovers, and had a +5 turnover margin in just 4 games.

This year, the team only has 6 turnovers created and a +1 margin.

The line isn't ferocious like last year. Last year, Mingo and Montgomery were coming on every play.

I'm not confident in the D. I think they are adequate, but the offense is going to really have to put up points every game if this team is going to make noise this year.

not according to sam

I think the DTs are more of a concern than the ends.

I disagree. We lack depth, though.

Even when he took plays off for games that didn't matter, other teams had it in the back of their mind that he was there.

Plus, it was hyperbole.

The DL

Is maybe missing 1 player. And I think the players that are needed are there and will develop. JMO

Chavis seems to agree

Ego has been anything but soft. The DEs have actually played better than I expected.

If anything, AJ hasn't lived up ti the hype and our LBs (which were supposed to be a major strength) have been soft.

It seems to me the LBs haven't attacked the gaps or the runners, just sitting back waiting for the play to cget to them.

Yeah we need another DT for depth.

Also we've played 3 1/2 teams that run some sort of read option where we've been more concerned about the QB running than actually getting to the QB.

In the first half of TCU with Pachall still in, it looked like we were getting pressure at will. That's always been Chavis's m.o. though. Contain running QBs and attack pocket passers.

I definitely think we are missing the Logan's and brockers types in the middle. Is freak undersized I just don't see the running stuffing dt's I am used to. Ego is the best we got this year. Also INB4freakisdoubleteamed
