Harder to defend too. Some risk/reward when making the decision.


This seems correct. I noticed three catches where Beckham had his man beaten, Mett made the throw but the defender was able to knock the ball away late because it was right in front of him when Beckham came down. His numbers would have looked much better with those catches.

Seems like Auburn noticed this on film and made adjustments in defending him.

Not specifically him. That's a technique used by lots of teams. Saban used to teach that to our DB's here, assume he still does at Bama also. When the WR put his hands up, you thrust your hand into his and break it up.
