My friend that trains dogs said I would be disappointed if I got one and expected it to duck hunt but from reading online I can't help but to think he's wrong. You think I'd be better off just getting a lab?

I got my first shorthair to duck hunt, now I woodcock hunt... I found that I really enjoyed watching pointing dogs work, but there is no comparison between a retriever and an shorthair. They can be made to retrieve but you can't make them like it...
