Why does the SEC record really matter?

Seriously? It's all that matters. Not losing to Boise St or UCF? If you want to call that improvement, go for it.

There is literally no way using the English language to say that going from 10-4 to 12-2 is not improving.

So yeah, I will call that improvement.

well Boise was a top 5 team in 2011. I don't know what UCF was, but probably about the same as their OOC games last year. And while they did lose the SEC CG 2 years in a row, they went from a 32 point loss in 2011 to losing by 4 on the last play year ago, so yes they did improve. I know in our Ricky Bobby, "if your* not first your* last world" that doesn't matter. But going from 10 wins to 12, a top 20 ranking to top 10 does show improvement, but thoughtful analysis has no place in a smack talk mentalitiy, so we can rip on a record setting QB because his team didn't win enough.
