That would be because of the ESPN microphone right in front of their band, which sat at the bottom of the stadium. I'm sure that the LSU band did not have a microphone exetend all the way up to the second level where they sit.

Could also be that they actually played while in the stands. TGBFTL has to sit through the myriad advertisements and Piped-In music. Auburn's band played constantly anytime there was a break in the action. I thought they were outstanding this year. They have improved greatly over the past few years.
