AS stated, research and do it right. I have a 1 &1/3 ac pond behind my home. It is great to have and fish. It does require upkeep, expense, and management. I have no regrets at all. After a bitchy day at the office, I can sit on my pier, drink a beer(hey it rhymes), and fish if I want. My bass are plentiful, catfish are big, and bream are always ready. My Lab loves to swim in it, and my ducks are happy.

Mine will be about an acre, possibly more, when I build.
