Like someone mentioned earlier. I feel like I'm relearning how to play GTA. Everything is at a grander scale and more alive, i guess you would say, compared to past GTA's
Seems like 2.5 hours in and I haven't seen a single random person on the sidewalk that looked the same. In the past games, every other motherfricker had the same outfit on, slightly less in GTA4.
Driving is definitely different. I feel like once my driving skill increases I'll be fine but running from the cops and chasing people down is a tad more difficult.
You certainly have to use cover while in a gun fight or your arse will die quick.
Eluding cops is interesting. In a vehicle at low level, it's easy. Just haul arse the opposite direction of the street cars.
On foot, it's a bit more difficult and they will spot you even if your ducked behind a building or in an alley way.
Once your star level gets to level 4, there's hardly any escaping. Motherfrickers hunt you down at all costs and one slip or wreck and your arse is done. Will take some practice to max out the wanted level.
I've done about 3 story missions and 2-3 side missions, not a one like the other. That's promising.
I'm interested to see how much Chop is used and if training him really provides a benefit. I couldn't control him worth a shite.
As typical my fashion in IRL, i got drunk at the strip club and blew half the cash i had on me on double dances lol.
I found the military base and saw a tank, but got blasted getting out my POS topless Caddy before I could climb into the tank. I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE.
Great graphics. They've maxed out the hardware for this gen for sure. There's 0 foreground or horizon loading issues, all just there already no matter where or how fast you are going.
No loading at all from mission to mission. I wish the loading of the map once you press start was a bit faster tho.
The mini map and drive routing is smooth and very easy to use.
Gun mechanics, switching weapons, and overall movement is vastly improved and feels more natural compared to past GTA's. I've ran face first into a fence or wall before climbing multiple times, haha.
Voice acting is top notch as is every GTA. The radio station options are great. Also very easy to go thru while driving. I've tried all the stations, minus the mexican one.
The news station, talk radio, and Old School rap are my favs.
That's all I've got for the night, but i'll be back mid-morning playing some more to answer questions and provide more impressions.
Really loving it so far.
There is soo much to do, soo much going on, and it's huge. I will be getting lost in this game for a while. BF4 will be my only reprieve. and that likely will be momentary.
nice little early impression review. sounds pretty much how i expected. sounds like they went with a little more difficult level when it come to fighting and evading police, which is ok with me. if it is too difficult, you better believe they will patch that shite with a quickness
i can't fricking wait to get my copy tomorrow
