LB-Beckwith

I like it, he's a better option than Welter as this point, and I think he might be the future at MLB...but there's more to MLB than meets the eye.

They have to call the defensive signals and I doubt Beckwith is ready for that yet.

I'd rather see us slide Barrow to the middle with Alexander and Tahj/Debo on the outside

I agree with this and would add that he has only been here since August and is probably adjusting more to the physicality and speed of the game and isn't where he needs to be mentally just yet, which is not unlike 98% of college freshmen playing at big time programs.

But if there is a player who could pull off such major responsibilities at a young age Beckwith seems to be a prime candidate. He played QB in high school to go along with playing multiple defensive positions. I'm sure he has the ability to read an offense and is accustomed to getting players lined up correctly. He was the unquestioned leader for his team and didn't shy away from the spotlight.

I know that playing 2a high school football is nowhere near the level of SEC play but I'm just saying that if anyone could pull it off at such a young age he could do it. Im also sure that if he was capable of doing it at this very moment Chavis would no doubt have the kid starting at MLB instead of Welter.
