Hell no. If they dump Mack Brown, the last thing they are gonna want is Mack Brown version 2.0. They will go for the young, dynamic coach with a good resume that's up and coming.

Even if UT hired CLM, LSU promotes Cam.

Didn't he flop in his only head coaching gig?

CNS flopped at Miami too.

True, but Saban didn't get fired.

fricking yeah. Miles wants to leave then let him leave. It's not like he is winning titles every year.

I think they go after saban first which they end up not getting and then settle on briles. They will open the checkbook for saban and we will get to find out if he can truely be bought or if he is after the legacy of winning. I would think at his age he wouldn't want to rebuild again, even though Texas might be the easiest team to rebuild int he country. 0% chance for miles, he isn't their style.

CNS didn't hang around long enough. He broke and ran.

You'd better appreciate what you have, because replacing him could be a crap shoot.
There's a very long coaching list that haven't sniffed Miles success.

They are stupid if they don't. If Les Miles accomplished at Texas what he's accomplished here, he'd be beloved by all.
I really do think Miles was offered the Michigan job, came very close to taking it, then, for whatever reason, backed off. I'm thinking if he doesn't take that job, he's taking no jobs.
Additionally, there's the glut of talent in Louisiana over the next few years to consider. Miles knows what he's got headed his way, and knows what he can do with it.

not really, he was 15-17 in 2 years, wasn't fired. Plenty of great NFL coaches have done worse then 15-17 in their first 2 years.

To go to Texas, where there is a great tradition, but it will be a steep learning curve in terms of learning how/who/where to recruit. And his most productive years are behind him.
Saban is either going to UT or Dallas
Texas will go younger when they make their move.

because he is largely driven by new challenges...he's likely getting bored with Alabama

Well his daughter goes there. We fuked. So does Saban come back?
Posted on 9/15/13 at 5:16 pm to Oyster
I agree, Saban would have been a success in the NFL if he had given it time

This is partially true. I don't know about him being bored but these guys are driven to succeed at higher and higher levels. Other pluses would include the absolute wealth of available talent to UT and the fact that those arrogant, entitled bastards would probably have no problem throwing $10M per year at him.

Texas will go after Charlie Strong at Louisville after trying to get Jimbo Fisher back. There will back some who will noy want a black coach at UT but he will be hired and produce a winner for them.

Why? He can stay here until he retires. Why go anywhere else? If Les wins at least 10 games a year he will never be in trouble. I see the foundation for at least 10 wins a year.

I was told he and Lloyd Carr didn't get along.
There's also a rumor that CLM slept with Lloyd Carr's wife. If so....and I find that difficult to believe given what I've seen of Mile's character...that would explain it.

Sabah will either go to the cowboys or jets or he will retire at Bama. He isn't taking another CFB job.
If UT upped his pay 50% and Bama didn't match Saban would be a gone pecan. I'm not saying it's likely, though.
